December 2020 – Midwestern Pet Foods expanded previous recalls of brands like Sportmix due to aflatoxin concerns.
June 2019 – Multiple brands of dog food made by Hill’s Pet Nutrition recalled due to elevated vitamin D levels.
March 2022 – Certain lots of Nature’s Menu Super Premium dog food recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.
January 2022 – Multiple brands by Midwestern Pet Foods, including Pro Pac, Splash, Sportstrail and more recalled due to potentially fatal levels of aflatoxin.
December 2021 – Certain lots of Jonny Cat dog food recalled due to potentially elevated calcium levels.
November 2021 – Select lots of Carnivora fresh frozen dog food recalled due to potential listeria monocytogenes contamination.
October 2021 – Natural Life Chicken & Potato dry dogs food recalled due to elevated levels of vitamin D.
September 2021 – Tuffy’s Pet Foods PureVita Salmon Entrée dogs food recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.
September 2021 – Sunshine Mills Evolve Puppy dry dogs food recalled due to elevated levels of vitamin D.
August 2021 – Brand Castle dog food recalled due to potentially elevated lead levels.
May 2021 – Specific batches of Sportmix pet food tainted with potentially fatal levels of aflatoxin recalled.
December 2, 2022: Blue Buffalo recalled several of its dry dog food products due to potential aflatoxin contamination. Aflatoxin is a toxin produced by mold that can be harmful to dogs. The recalled products were sold in various sizes and had best-by dates ranging from December 2022 to September 2023.
October 12, 2022: Diamond Pet Foods recalled several of its dry dog food products due to potential salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold in various sizes and had best-by dates ranging from October 2022 to March 2023.
August 2, 2022: WellPet recalled several of its dry dog food products due to potential melamine contamination. Melamine is a chemical that can be harmful to dogs. The recalled products were sold in various sizes and had best-by dates ranging from August 2022 to March 2023.
Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) dog food
February 16, 2023: Family Dollar recalled all wet dog food products sold at its stores due to possible salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold in 13-ounce cans and had best-by dates ranging from February 10, 2023 to March 10, 2023.
